The Architectural Institute of British Columbia is a self-governing

The Coroners Service of British Columbia is responsible
for the investigation of all unnatural, sudden and unexpected, unexplained
or unattended deaths. It makes recommendations to improve public safety
and prevent death in similar circumstances.

The British Columbia
Farm Industry Review Board ("FIRB") is an administrative tribunal
a statutory appeal body with additional responsibilities for the
general supervision of marketing boards and commissions ("commodity
boards") operating in the agriculture and aquaculture sectors.

Human Rights Tribunal |
The B.C. Human Rights Tribunal is an independent, quasi-judicial body
created by the B.C. Human Rights Code. The Tribunal is responsible for
accepting, screening, mediating and adjudicating human rights complaints.
The Tribunal offers the parties to a complaint the opportunity to try
to resolve the complaint through mediation. If the parties don't resolve
the complaint, the Tribunal holds a hearing.

Mental Health Review Panels |
Review panels are mandated to adjudicate whether or not a patient should
continue to be detained in a mental health facility after hearing evidence
from the facility and from the patient.

The Pension Corporation is one of Canada's largest pension benefit administrators,
serving the boards of trustees for the largest public sector pension plans
in British Columbia, and representing over 300,000 active and retired
plan members, and about 800 plan employers.

The British Columbia Review Board is an independent tribunal
established under the Criminal Code of Canada. The Review Boards
mandate is to protect public safety while also safeguarding the rights
and freedoms of mentally disordered persons who are alleged to have committed
an offence.

Care and Assisted Living Appeal Board |
The function of the appeal board is to hear appeals regarding the licensing
of community care facilities, the registration of assisted living residences
and the licensing of early childhood educators.

and Assistance Appeal Tribunal |
The Tribunal is an independent quasi-judicial body that manages a final
appeal process for clients of the Ministry of Human Resources who wish
to appeal a reconsideration decision under the Employment
and Assistance Act, the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities
Act or the Child Care Subsidy Act.

The Employment Standards Branch administers the Employment
Standards Act and Regulation, which set minimum standards of wages and
working conditions in most workplaces.

The Employment Standards Tribunal is an independent
agency of the Government of British Columbia with a mandate to conduct
appeals of Determinations issued by the Director of Employment Standards.

The Environmental Appeal
Board is governed by Part 8 of the Environmental Management Act. It is an
independent agency which hears appeals from administrative decisions related
to environmental issues. The Environmental Appeal Board plays a role in
ensuring the protection of the environment by providing a final quasi-judicial
access point for public and industry to appeal environmental administrative
decisions. The Board ensures that administrative decisions relating to the
environment are fair and objective. |

Services Tribunal |
The FST hears appeals from individuals and institutions
who want to contest enforcement decisions made by the Insurance Council
of British Columbia, Real Estate Council of British Columbia, Superintendent
of Real Estate, Superintendent of Pensions, Registrar of Mortgage Brokers
and Superintendent of Financial Institutions. It provides an avenue of
appeal for those who believe that they have been wrongly limited or denied
the ability to work in one of the regulated occupations to which an appeal
lies to the FST.

The Forest Appeals Commission is an independent tribunal
established under the Forest Practices Code of British Columbia Act and
continued under the Forest and Range Practices Act. The Commission hears
appeals from decision made under the Code.

British Columbia's Forest Practices Board is an independent public watchdog
that reports to the public about compliance with the Forest Practices
Code and the achievement of its intent.

The Hospital Appeal Board's function is to hear appeals
filed by medical or dental practitioners regarding: a decision of a hospital's
board of management that modifies, refuses, suspends, revokes or fails
to renew a permit to practise medicine or dentistry in a hospital; or
the failure or refusal of a hospital's board of management to consider
and decide on an application for a permit.

The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC) is independent
from government and monitors and enforces British Columbia's Freedom of
Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) and Personal Information
Protection Act (PIPA).

The Labour Relations Code (the "Code") establishes the Labour
Relations Board. The statute grants the Board exclusive jurisdiction to

Property Assessment
Review Panels are established every year by the Minister to review property
assessments under the Assessment Act. The panels provide British
Columbia property owners with a first level of complaint in an accessible,
affordable and equitable forum.

reporting to Parliament, is: to recruit and appoint qualified persons

The PSLRA established a new Public Service Labour Relations
Board building on the former Public Service Staff Relations Board, an
institution that was established in 1967 with the inception of collective
bargaining in the Public Service of Canada. Under the new Act, the Board
is vested with an expanded mandate consisting of three major components:
adjudication , mediation, and compensation research and analysis .

Surface Rights Board |
The Yukon Surface Rights Board (the Board) is a tribunal
which, primarily, resolves access disputes between those owning or having
an interest in land (surface rights holders) and those with access rights
to the land. The Board gets involved in disputes when the parties are
unable to reach an agreement, and a party applies to the Board. The Board
offers mediation to the Parties to the dispute of an accepted application
and, failing mediation, conducts hearings on matters within its jurisdiction.
